Limited Medical Benefit Insurance
Particularly if you are an hourly, seasonal or temporary worker, you may have affordable access to an employer sponsored plan that can meet your needs.
What is a Limited Benefit Medical plan?
The BasicAdvantage Limited Benefit Medical plan is important protection made available by your employer for you and your dependents. Your acceptance is guaranteed: You cannot be turned down, as long as you sign up during your employer’s open enrollment period.
This plan is not a substitute for comprehensive health insurance and does not qualify as minimum essential health coverage (MEC) under the Affordable Care Act. However, it is designed to provide you, and your covered dependents, with basic insurance coverage, and may be combined with a MEC plan sponsored by your employer.
What is covered by this plan?
The most common health care expenses are covered, with no existing conditions exclusions or limitations: doctor visits, x-rays, lab work, prescription drugs and hospital visits, to name a few. There are no deductibles or copays, and you choose your own doctor and hospital. When you select a provider from our national network, you enjoy additional savings. You and your enrolled dependents receive other non–insurance benefits, including:
- Express Scripts® Prescription Drug Card offering discounts at participating pharmacies nationwide. (Many generic prescriptions are available for $0 out of pocket.)
- VSP Access Plan membership offering discounts on eye exams and prescription glasses at network doctors
- 24-Hour Telehealth Services
- Online Wellness Assistance
- Teletherapy Services
- 24-Hour Travel Assistance Services
